Greater Brunswick Charter School Established in 1998

Greater Brunswick Charter School is a tuition-free public charter school open to all New Jersey students, offering enrollment priority to students who reside in Edison, Highland Park, and New Brunswick. Interested applicants should fill out a lottery application on Lotterease and encouraged to attend a GBCS Information Session.

All interested applicants must fill out the online application by the third Sunday of February each year to be included in the lottery. Applications recieved after the deadline are added to the waiting list in the order they are recieved.

 

Enrollment is granted to students through a random lottery with preference to residents of Edison, Highland Park, and New Brunswick and current GBCS siblings for each grade level. Applications are limited to one per student, if a student appears more than once they will be withdrawn. Do not enter another lottery application if a mistake was made, please edit or contact the school for assistance.

 

Once Lotterease opens for the lottery application in September, you can apply for the current school waitlist and the following school year lottery application. Your child's number on the waiting list is only good for the school year for which you applied. If your child is not called within that school year, it is your responsibility to resubmit a new application for the following school year.

The number of available slots will be announced during the lottery and students who are selected first will recieve an enrollment offer. Enrollment offers will be recinded if a student does not meet age requirements or adequate proof of residency. All other applicants will be selected based on the waiting list order.

Incoming kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before the district cut-off dates:

Edison Residents - October 1

Highland Park Residents - October 1

New Brunswick Residents - October 15

 

Please check your resident school district cut-off date if outside of the above districts.
