Parents must provide each student's exam records to the school district within 30 days of the student's enrollment.
As per N.J.A.C. 6A:16-2.4(d), every school district is required to make sure that the student's documentation of entry examination is sent to the transfer school district when the student is transferring to another school.
Immunization of Pupils in Schools (N.J.A.C. 8:57-4) mandates that pupils receive a series of vaccinations before being allowed to attend school in New Jersey.
Grade 6 Vaccination Requirements
The following two vaccinations are required by the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) in accordance with Chapter 14 N.J.A.C. 8:57-4.
Tdap vaccination (acellular pertussis, diphtheria, and tetanus) Each child starting or continuing in Grade 6 must have had one dose of Tdap administered no earlier than when they become ten years old, and five (5) years must have passed since their last DTP/DTaP or Td dosage.
Vaccine against meningococci A single dose of the meningococcal vaccine (Menactra or Menveo) must have been administered to each child starting or attending Grade 6.
These vaccinations won't be necessary for a 10-year-old starting sixth grade until they become 11 years old. Within TWO WEEKS of turning eleven, the NJDOH mandates that the dosage be administered.
A principal, administrator, or other person in charge of a school is prohibited from admitting or keeping any kid whose parents have not provided valid proof of immunizations, according N.J.A.C. 8:57–2.
